Episode 82: Delia McLinden

Do Something Big. Do Something Small. Just Do Something.

There is a quote that Delia McLinden says means everything to her:

‘You can do something big, or you can do something small, but whatever you do, it’s better than nothing at all’ – Dr. Seuss

For Delia, the Vice President of the global skincare and body care brand Farmhouse Fresh and the founder of Archangel Animal Network, she is doing a lot more than nothing at all. Through her foundation, she has rescued over 5,000 dogs from shelters in Texas and found them homes across the United States where they can be loved. Where they can live. Actually remain alive. The numbers of dogs being euthanized in shelters today is staggering as people in record numbers are dropping off dogs in shelters around the country. Dog owners who were home during Covid and had the time, now find the care and attention a dog needs something they cannot manage.

Delia’s vision is clear - identify where you see something that could be changed if only someone would step up and do something about it, and then be that person who is stepping up and doing something about it. As Delia sees her mission, she is fighting for these voiceless animals and saving souls. She’s also taking that same engaged approach and advocacy to taking back her life and changing her relationship to alcohol. Where drinking once occupied her daily thoughts and was impacting her behavior and her health, she is now living a sober, healthy existence. Her reason? She knew deep inside that something had to change.

As Delia says with complete humility and candor, “If we all just did something,” and found that one thing that mattered to us and got engaged with it, we could change ourselves, and we could change the world.
